Facebook has files a lawsuit against OneAudience that had allegedly been paying app devs to install its SDK in their apps, which meant it had over the SDK's code to harvest data on Facebook users.

"After a user installed one of these apps on their device, the malicious SDK enabled OneAudience to collect information about the user from their device and their Facebook, Google, or Twitter accounts, in instances where the user logged into the app using those accounts," the complaint reads..

Clearly, Facebook does not want another Cambridge Analytica debacle.

Happy to see that Facebook is taking action to online actors who try to collect user information without the user knowing the details of the logging and tracking. Facebook itself would never do that <tongue in cheek>

What strikes me most is that tech companies are now suing each other against harvesting user data, instead of being sued by the government or users. This is IMO either because of a lack of a legal framework to allow users and government to be successful at taking action, or because Facebook sees benefits in the commercial or public opinion arena. Probably a combination of both.
