France's Finance Minister has said that Facebook's Libra cryptocurrency cannot be allowed to operate in Europe while there are still questions over financial risks and risk of abuses.

If I were a govt, and somebody tried to take away my power to print new money (or remove it from circulation), I'd label the interloper as risky and dangerous too.

I expect there are potentially great risks allowing people to buy and sell Libra, will it attempt to peg itself against a real currency or will it be permitted to inflate or deflate according to demand and the health of fb, the mothership.
