Spike on my Facebook profile. How to investigate?

It seems now I have like a new FB follower every 2-3 minutes (and much friend requests). What does this mean? Am I rich now? How to understand the reason for this spike?

Should I stop all other activity and focus on getting many FB posts?

The spike is on the personal profile. The pages are probably low yet.

@porton ... Welcome to Webmasterworld!

Sadly, most of these will be bot things which only increase the noise on FB and the web in general. Not much you can do about it, and very little incentive to seek more!

Maybe any of your posts became viral (being shared by a celebrity, i.e.), but it doesn't means nothing in terms of audience: your posts will be shown to a ridiculous amount of people unless a) you pay for audience or b) you have real activity in FB and many actual friends liking, sharing and commenting your posts.

Before I left FB a few years back I learned that any friend requests hitting me at 2-3 minute intervals were bots hoping to become "legit". Only way to play is to not play the game with bots.

Humans are not that energetic!

All social media has this problem, twitter especially.
