"In an interim measures ruling on 11 June 2019, the District Court in Warsaw has temporarily prohibited Facebook from removing fan pages, profiles, and groups run by Civil Society Drug Policy Initiative (SIN) on Facebook and Instagram, as well as from blocking individual posts"

This will turn into a mess, between countries forcing Facebook to remove particular content, others forbidding it, and others making Facebook liable for content posted by its members. (An EU directive , which still needs to me turned into national laws, is making platforms liable for the content posters by its users).

@Dimitri, yes, it is going to be very messy.

ON the other hand, its inevitable. The internet is international, laws are national. There are going to be clashes.

Chuckles.

Tech giants want to be "open platforms with no restrictions", and then turn around and become arbiters of what is posted, and then governments getting involved in PREvENTING that arbitration (for good reasons) and yes, the mess will only get worse.

In the USA the tech giants are about to lose their Section 230 haven ... at which point, things will really get crazy. :)

They now seem to want to be arbiters of what other people publish as well:

I think the people running them are getting power crazy.

Mostly, I blame the "someone shot up a restaurant because a meme [en.wikipedia.org] said the people there were in league with the devil" articles. I would be surprised, and kind of disappointed, if there was no response.
