Nobody doubts Facebook has become the 800lb gorilla, and the influence of one man, Mark Zuckerberg, has created this dominant force.
One of Facebook's co-founders, Chris Hughes, believes Facebook has become so big and powerful that it's time to break it up.
We are a nation with a tradition of reining in monopolies, no matter how well intentioned the leaders of these companies may be. Mark’s power is unprecedented and un-American.

It is time to break up Facebook.

Timing was right for it, and i'm pretty sure that if it wasn't Facebook, it would have been another.

i think that facebook are beginning to make political decisions that it is not appropriate for a company to be making (especially given their ubiquity).

therefore it is time for it to be broken up - they have too much power.

- and thanks for the links ... an interesting read and listen.

And now, Facebook says that breaking it up is not the answer.

well of course Facebook would say that ... and i would expect an article such as this from Nick Clegg.

he was of course the failed politician who was in charge when his party had the biggest collapse in the history of UK politics, going from 57 to just 8 seats in parliament.

... shame on the New York Times for publishing what is effectively a propaganda piece for Facebook.
