The Washington Post is reporting the F.T.C. and Facebook are negotiating over a multi-billion Dollar fine to settle the F.T.C.'s investigation into Facebook's privacy practices.
The FTC’s probe of Facebook began in March of last year in response to reports about the social giant’s entanglement with Cambridge Analytica, a political consultancy that improperly accessed data on 87 million of the social site’s users.

Playing catch up. This will not end well for anyone, most especially the public. (sigh)

However, it this becomes a wake up for tech giants the show more due diligence on their current biz (data collection of users), then there may be some good.

However, and we have seen this century on century, there are those who will take the lumps and then come back twice as evil.

Nature of the beast.

Not holding my breath on this one.
