Is there any use of posting articles on your Facebook page anymore?

Hi so used to be that articles were posted on my fb page and they would reach a significant number. Now for many months FB has just stopped all links (article news) from going to many followers of your fb page.

It seems the reach (without adverts) is now less than 0.5% of your total page follower count. So besides "boosting" the article there is no way of reaching to a significant number of followers of your page.

Basically put FB wants you to pay for reaching out to your followers via ads. Is there anyway of increasing the reach count and not paying to boost the article?

No.

Simple answer given, you're still playing with FB?

I stopped having anything to do with Facebook after they disabled feed from Twitter to be automatically posted to your Facebook page (it was a year or so ago). When I tried to post manual articles, the reach was less than 0.25%. Sending manual spam to random emails would be more efficient for a webmaster than spending another second on Facebook. Unless you are a paying customer.

Does anyone know if reach (without paying) is different between 'business or brand' pages and 'community or public figure' pages?

Or is reach for all page types now pay-to-play?

Look at recent changes to FBs management of "news" and who gets to read it. Their change was to promote "family and friends" which pretty much killed biz on FB (unless you pay to play).

Begs the question. Is it FB driving the traffic, or Instagram?

Most of my client who still try to FB are weeping large tears these days, little or no traction. If you have found a magic bullet, keep it to yourself! Else every tom, dick and harry will copy it and steal your thunder. :)

it's no secret, create good content on facebook, don't try to drive traffic from Facebook all the time. I post whole articles on Facebook, over 2000 words sometimes, add many pictures and remove all links, create spread and it gives more in the long run.

For your site, or fb?

Don't care a fig about what joy I give fb if it does not equate to biz for me. :)

(Been there, done that, beat head against the wall, have moved on to other methods which provide better results).

YMMV

To my site ofcourse. You cant just take and take from any social platform, you must give back. Get good followers so will they visit your homepage, not today or tomorrow, in the future :) When you post and get good spread on Facebook, you can put a link in comments to your homepage, not everytime.

Trickle down links? Do the other 2 billion fb eyeballs see those as well? Meant as humor. I invested 13 years in fb and the ROI was never all that good. With the current privacy problems and other difficulties (like lying about how many humans are actually on fb and changing reporting on same for advertisers, etc) I finally gave up.
