Facebook scans all Messenger messages for images and links, and if any messages are flagged to a moderator, the message is read.

Yet another "mess up" for FB (see MZ's more recent interviews here there and red-faced on the various MSM services.

BTW, g does the same with gmail, including drafts you decide not to send or have deleted.
