Does Linking From Timeline To Business Page Have Negative Consequenses

Does linking from your timeline to your FB business page have negative consequences in terms of who will see your timeline posts, or user interaction, or other negatives?

I don't really want to spam my timeline with just all business stuff. However, posting to my FB business page means that my reach will be quite limited, because I just don't have that many people who like / follow my facebook business page.

Is there a recommended way to maybe post some images on my timeline and then link to a detailed post with more images on my FB business page without hurting engagement?

Thanks in advance. Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I read that posts with hashtags get less views than those without hashtags, so I was wondering if timeline posts with links would meet that same fate of less views.

Every single post I make on my FB timeline is linked to my business interests, some of which are my FB business page. I've seen no negative results from FB itself.

I should also say IMO the FB business page is a poor replacement for a TLD of your own, but if that;s all you have, it's better than nothing.

Thank you both, keyplyr and techmet.

I DO have a TLD of my own. So, in theory I could link to my blog (or, I guess I could use one of the social plugins to share from my blog to my personal timeline).

I just want to see which would be best if I want to:

1) generate most engagement, and

2) Avoid getting into hot water with facebook (for using my personal timeline as too much of a "business").

While of course I would prefer people to go to my website instead of to my FB Business page, could I expect the same amount of engagement if I linked to / shared from my website as if I linked to / shared from my business page?

And we agree that it is better to post to your timeline and LINK to your FB business page / Website than it is to post AS your personal identity ON your FB Business page, right? Your post will most likely get more views if you post as yourself on your personal timeline than if you post as yourself onto your BUSINESS page, right?

Thanks!

@ Keyplyr:

I hope you could elaborate on that... I know a lot less about facebook groups than I do about facebook in general.

There are thousands of topic specific discussion groups at FB. If you want to generate traffic to your site, consider joining and posting in these groups.

Create interesting Open Graph (OG) [ogp.me] images for your site pages that will be used for the link image when posting. Test here: [developers.facebook.com...]

Become an active contributing member of these groups and develop name recognition and trust.
