Facebook has given Messenger a revamp and is now reordering posts showing what it thinks you might want to see, with recent messages, followed by favorites (the most active contact interactions), an active now section, and birthday reminders. It's taking more of the desktop to your mobile.

I would never install this software on my phone, but 900 million people can't be wrong, right?

How much can you improve a messaging app aside from showing who's online? For example, Skype's birthday notifications are more of an annoyance, so I assume that would be the case here. I guess there is more call from their userbase to include more FB features in Messenger since they divorced it from the main app.

I don't like anyone "reordering" my messages ... period. Fortunately I don't have to worry about this since I deleted the app a few weeks ago as intrusive and less valuable than it had been.
