According to a number of sources, Facebook is said to be facing a slow decline in the levels of sharing of personal, original content from users.

Overall sharing has remained "strong," according to Facebook. However, people have been less willing to post updates about their lives as their lists of friends grow, the people said.
Instead, Facebook’s 1.6 billion users are posting more news and information from other websites. As Facebook ages, users may have more than a decade’s worth of acquaintances added as friends. People may not always feel comfortable checking into a local bar or sharing an anecdote from their lives, knowing these updates may not be relevant to all their connections. I also wonder how much of that might be to do with the realization of personal privacy, and that previous posts might be coming back to haunt users. Everyone needs to realize that when they post something on the Internet it's no longer private. If you don't want it seen, don't post it!

Has the emergence of other new sharing services might be taking some of the personal sharing away from Facebook?

Has Facebook just turned in to a rolling newsfeed of click-bait articles? That's what my feed looked like to me when I checked in after several months. I prefer to curate my newsfeeds a bit more than what I get there. I didn't see much value before and I see even less now. Though given its popularity it doesn't seem that many others agree with my thinking.

I agree, there's been far too many clickbait articles appearing. I have become blind to them, and anything which, for example, ends in, "you won't believe what happened next..." is a complete turn off.
