I have been running some ads for about a month and a half and one thing I can not figure out is missing click traffic. We have a custom click tracker so I know exactly how many requests come in from FB campaigns and how many get delivered to my website.
No matter what variations I try, I always seem to only get 65%-85% actual visitors I pay for. On bad days, sometimes we only get 50% of actual visits. I am targeting Mobile traffic only.
We track new visitors, repeat visitors, the ip's of the FB ad verification bots and then we have these "mystery requests". These mystery visits hit our click tracker and do not go through to our destination page (we use JavaScript to send visits to the destination page).
At first I thought that FB would detect these as mis-clicks or bots, but we still get charged for some of them.
For example one campaign today:
83 FB clicks we paid for
40 valid visitors
6 Facebook visits from FB ad verification bots
95 additional mystery visits that enter our click tracker, but do not fire the javascript needed to come out on the other side to get redirected to the destination page
Has anyone else ever seen this? I started 6 weeks ago and see this consistently. Would appreciate any insight or things to check. Is there a known issue with mobile traffic?
