Does Facebook Engagement Decrease As A Page Gets Older

I have noticed in my niche that some active but slightly older pages (started acquiring like 2-3 years ago) have really bad engagement/reach.

I was hoping as my page grew I would get more traffic from fb or at least maintain.

But looking at these pages makes me doubt those assumptions. Does anyone have any insights. I am looking at pages that are 600k-1.3 million likes.

The pages I see post twice as much as me but have half the engagement.

I used to have a 2M page until it got removed(for some BS :p) and I definitely noticed less engagement over time. My theory is it's just people naturally being "desensitized" to seeing the same page, just like ads. You always have to keep growing.

I wouldn't say it decreases, but, yes, there is a point of saturation, and the possibility of page blindness. Page blindness could also be the result of irrelevant updates. If users keep seeing content that is uninteresting, or irrelevant, the filtering will cause declines.
