Facebook's latest announcement for two new local business ad tools caught my eye as it seems its trying to bridge the disconnect between bricks and mortar, and online. The local ads allow businesses with multiple stores to target awareness ads for a specific region, and if the business has multiple locations, when a user clicks, the ad will take them to the phone number of their nearest store.

The local Page Insights now includes additional information such as busiest days and times, and can get the data about aggregated demographics of the people nearby.

Now, with the launch of two new products for local businesses, we’re making it easier for businesses with multiple locations to create local ads for each store and also giving businesses more insight into the groups of people near their stores. Local insights tell businesses the aggregate demographics and trends associated with the people nearby, so they can better understand and cater to the needs of the people in the area.
Businesses can discover the neighborhood’s busiest days of the week and times of day, so they know when people are most likely to visit their store. And they can see aggregate demographics of the people nearby, including age, gender, tourist and local residents.
