Everyone will soon have a virtual assistant at this rate! Facebook's "M" Messenger test includes a human-assisted version.

It won’t take long for Messenger’s users to realize M can accomplish much more than your standard digital helper, suspects David Marcus, vice president of messaging products at Facebook. “It can perform tasks that none of the others can,” Marcus says. That’s because, in addition to using artificial intelligence to complete its tasks, M is powered by actual people. Facebook Testing a Virtual Assistant, "M" [wired.com]

“An engineer went to Paris for a couple days, and his friend asked M to redecorate his desk in a French style,” Marcus says. “Twenty-four hours later, the desk was decorated with a proper napkin, baguette bread, and a beret.”

So.."it" does stereotypes then..

Ô ..the huge manatee..

Qu'est-ce qu'ils sont cons* ..

* this word has multiple possible meanings, depending on context and emphasis, some are NSFW, some are SFW..I'm using it it in the SFW sense..really..

stereotypes are likely to be what you get. I don't use the "personal assistants" provided by apple, Microsoft, etc., but I would imagine that the AI is not yet smart enough to go beyond the obvious.

Prove me wrong!

Well, the paperclip was long ago recycled - keep up Fathom, Microsoft now has Cortana. :)

So you're saying I need a Virtual Assistant to help keep me up-to-date with Virtual Assistants.

I rather vomit!

In James Bond, M is the head of MI5. Better name would have been Q.

Never watched startrek since William Shatner. Was there a Q in Startrek? Q is the guy that builds James Bond his toys, like the Aston Martin with the ejector seat. (Note to self: need one of these for the day I give a lift to the guy at Google who decided Panda was a good idea).
