System: The following 5 messages were cut out of thread at: https://www.webmasterworld.com/facebook/4760918.htm [webmasterworld.com] by bill - 7:24 pm on Aug 19, 2015 (jst +9)

So I thought I finally understood how it works, and thought I'd give it a try, seems Facebook has changed (removed?) the option to use the account as the business page. So now I end up liking pages with my personal page, which was not what I was trying to do.

Can anyone explain me how to like another page using my business page?

On the desktop, in the top right corner there's a arrow/triangle pointing downwards. Click that, and in the dropdown select Use Facebook as and choose the Page you want to interact as.

That's the problem: the option is gone.
I've spent hours searching for a solution, and it seems I'm not the only one who's "lost" this option.
Is there a workaround?

It's available on all my browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Vivaldi. Perhaps you could try another browser?

Tried other browsers: no luck.

If I search for this problem in Google, it looks like I'm not the only one. However, impossible to find a solution.

Anyone? I still haven't found the solution, although I tried several suggestions I found.

Also tried installing the Business Manager, but since that installation hung, I abandoned it. Later I found in the Facebook Help that if it's one person work on a page, it's not necessary to upgrade to Business Manager.

Not sure about your issue as I can't replicate the issue on any of my accounts. Just log into Facebook with the account that has Admin rights to the Page. Go to the Page, and then click on the triangle in the top right corner, then select the Page you want to work as:

Might verify if your browser has changed settings for javascript and third party content (scripts, cookies, etc.) These are all required to make FB function properly.

@Bill: my Facebook page says "Your pages" instead of "Use Facebook as.." as shown in your screenshot. I used to have this option, but it's changed recently.
I've got a screenshot, but can't see how to attach it.

@Tangor: I tried FF and Safari on a Mac, Opera and FF on Windows and Safari and Opera on IOS: they all give the same result, so I doubt if it's Javascript, cookies, etc..

I think "screenshots" and any "image" posts are admins only ..

That explains it then...

Well, I give up: I've spent too many hours trying to get it to work, tried dozens of (possible) solutions, and nothing seems to work.

So, my business page will not "like" another page.

Thanks anyway for those who've tried to help.

Almost hate to ask this, but have you contacted FB support and asked the question? It might actually be a network foobar on their side (ie, you're blocked for no good reason).

Wouldn't hurt!

It's a valid question. But I have contacted Facebook (before posting here) but never received a reply.
I'll try it again. As you say, it can't hurt.

This question was asked here last May and the answer is shown as:
1) Click into Business Manager,
2) Click on the "use page" button.
3) In the next window on the top right corner **CLICK** "Use Facebook as your page". From there you can use your Business manager to like other peoples pages.
You can read the thread here if you like: [webmasterworld.com...]

@not2easy: I've tried several times to install the Business Manager, since I thought this might be the solution (although Facebook says it's not necessary if you work with only one page and one personal account), but it just won't install on my account: when I start the installation it will just block my browser and that's it.

If you are using a personal page as a business page, no, you will not have the same tools as you would if you have a personal account and then set up a separate business page. If you have only one page and one account you should create a separate page for your business.

Maybe you missed the original problem which is the fact that I no longer have the option to "use Facebook as..." my business page.
I have a personal account and one business page.

I realize it has been tried, but I can only suggest as tangor has, asking for help from Facebook: [facebook.com...]

Well, I've asked the question a few times, but I'm only thanked for my feedback:-)
So I doubt if I well ever receive a reply from Facebook.

But, looking at the number of other users experiencing the same problem, I'm glad I'm not the only one:-)

Well, I finally managed to "like" another page as my (business) page. It was something I tried a few times before, but the result was that the page I liked was added to my personal page.
Why it worked this time, I don't know. The only thing I changed was to allow Adobe Flash to run this time.

Apparently how it works is like this. (Excuse me if I don't have all the right words for the options, but I'm working with a Dutch version)

Go to the page you want to like.
Right from the "like" button there are 3 dots (...). Click on them and a menu shows up. Select the option "like as your page".
Confirm the next questions.

It'll tell you the page has been added to your page.

I wonder if the next page I'm going to try to like will take as much effort as this one:-)

A lot of Facebook options are not available if your browser has Flash disabled. I am happy to hear you got it worked out, it's a shame they don't make it easier or more obvious. More and more browsers are leaving Flash behind so they will need to work on that at some point.

Well, Facebook is not the only one who will have to work on that:-)

But I'll remember to turn Flash on if I'm working on Facebook.

Thanks for all the help.
