Quizzes on Facebook

Do they give long-term rewards?

Hello

I'm thinking about building a "What type of X are you" type quiz, where people can post their results on Facebook (and other social media sites) and invite their friends to do the same. If this is becomes popular + viral, there will be a short term benefit of a small % of quiz participants exploring my site and possibly clicking on my ads.

However, I'm wondering if this is likely to bring long term benefits too. For example, if 1000s of people participate in the quiz and post their results on Facebook, will this pass any link-juice to my site to help with Google rankings?

Thanks

Marvin

Marvin,

If you're purely looking for "link juice" in terms of boosting your ranking, you will have to work very hard to get that. You may get "link juice" from people that post links from their sites and services, but you will rely on the types of sites and the type of link.

I'd prefer to think of FB as a way to raise the profile of the business and its brand amongst the potential audience, rather than purely link juice in ranking.

Marvin,
According to me, most people just follow the quiz. There are very few people who do click on the ads while answeing the quiz.

Engine is right. You must think of FB as a way to raise the profile of the business and its brands.
