I have been running some facebook ads for 3 DVD's recently aired on TV in the Uk. Im finding the results a bit surprising and im wondering if this is normal?

Initially the CTR from Adverts are not great, but the CTR based of the actions generated from a click is huge.

Example;
Reach 87,181
Click 510
CTR 0.174%

Actions/clicks 510
Clicks to site 440
CTR 91%

I assume its because it is a quality product and a trusted online retail site?

This is the key to FB - scale.

What is amazing however, is their precision. Never before have we seen anything like it in targeting. I say this in context to your ability to boost CTR 2-4x. It brings us back to the days of old school target audience identification. We have been fast asleep in the world of keywords.

Chicago, just out of curiosity, do you think Facebook is better than Adwords?

Scott, they are two different animals but are not mutually exclusive.

Directional media like search is the most actionable inventory that we have for the reasons we all know.

Following, what has happened, is services like FB have become so intelligent in targeting because of what users are willing to share that in certain industries because it is early and because of inventory availability can definitely compete with G on a CPL basis.

I understand your response. I think the use of the word targeting throws me a bit because I see both products as having the ability to target -- Facebook with demographics and Adwords with specific interests. Both cross over into the other capabilities.

But I admit I have had a better experience with Adwords than Facebook. It appears that you have had the opposite.
