What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately the time has come where we have decided to have a company facebook page so I had to create it, today if that's anything to do with it.

What I do not understand is why all the facebook sites I see are:

[facebook.com...]

whereas ours is being shown as:

[facebook.com...]

Is this just a temporary thing or is this the way Facebook does it now?

You have to reach 100 members or likes to qualify for the shortened url.

Does this have to be applied for since I have a trade colleague who has 12K+ likes and he doesn't have the shortened url?

Nope– it's just a quick change in the page settings.

Go to the page as an admin > Settings > Page Info > Facebook Web Address

Change that to whatever you'd like.

Alternatively, you can follow the directions provided by Facebook here: [facebook.com...]
