my goodness, that was efficient!
i looked at an item on ebay, half an hour later i checked my facebook page, and there it is ... a picture of the ebay item showing up in an ad in my newsfeed.

Yes, interest based ads are annoying to a lot of people. If you want, you can make them stop at AboutAds: [aboutads.info...] where you can choose one or all of the companies that do this. It is a per browser setting, so it would need to be done again on your other devices and browsers. It does not prevent the ad companies from tracking and using other signals, just interest based ads.

Half an hour is pretty quick, and may help influence some. It's certainly good branding.

IBAs are most often too late for me. I've usually made the acquisition there and then, and if not, i'm probably not ready to choose it.

I'm probably an exception to the rule for most, but it's still creepy the way the ads follow me about.

How long did it take for the ad to disappear?
