Stephen Wolfram - Data Science of the Facebook World

From Stephen Wolfram's commentary...
I’ve always been interested in people and the trajectories of their lives. But I’ve never been able to combine that with my interest in science. Until now. And it’s been quite a thrill over the past few weeks to see the results we’ve been able to get. Sometimes confirming impressions I’ve had; sometimes showing things I never would have guessed. And all along reminding me of phenomena I’ve studied scientifically in A New Kind of Science.

Beautifully presented data, with extremely thoughtful supporting text. Should definitely be of interest to Facebook marketers... and goes way beyond the merely statistical. "Trajectories" of peoples' lives is a very apt description of what the study touches upon.

Some interesting conclusions in there, especially for accurately targeting Facebook ads while considering the trends for self-misrepresentation that Wolfram identified. Age related ones in particular, such as younger girls saying that they're married and widows saying they're married.
