If users (VIP) or not where able to set a price to receive mail, and receive a commission as a percentage of that fee it may it may actually gather some traction.
I think we are going to see a lot more of this from Facebook. It wasn't so long ago that they changed users displayed email addresses to @facebook.com email addresses. They clearly want us to use them as a communication platform.
