Facebook "likes" are being added to webpages even if a user has not clicked a like button, or even visited the page in question, the company has admitted.

In documentation relating to the function of the like button, Facebook details four criteria which cause the likes number to increase - only one of which involves clicking the like button.

...now that it has been exposed, he mumbled under his breath. Double the interest is so much more appealing if you are trying to convince advertisers of the popularity they will gain by using the platform. Double the real users, double the real interest, double the real common share value. But the law has no problem with arresting a guy for (allegedly) stealing a donut.
