Is tagging a good Practice

Hello Guys,
I have a query to be asked to you :
Is tagging the person who is not in a photo a good practice or bad, will it lead to ban of my profile if I tag the persons who are not actually present in a photo?

I don't know about bans, but I'd certainly block you if you did that. If you did it often people might report you.

Most people have notifications turned on for being tagged in photos. FB will send the tagged person a message.

i notice certain of my facebook friends do this all the time ... they do it to draw your attention to a particular photo they think funny or interesting ... it seems very common practice (although it seems pointless to me - then again i haven't got a teenage mindset)

I am not tagging any body who is not in a photo, I heard once my colleague saying that tagging the person who is not in a photo is a bad practice and FB can ban your profile for that and I just wanted to confirm whether it is right or he was just saying it for fun. anyways thank you for your comments, I am still in the same confusion whether it is a bad practice or good.

You'd only get banned if someone reported you for it. I have plenty of friends who do this and not one has been banned yet.

It's the worst possible practice to engage in on Facebook. If what you are tag is selling or promoting people will report you like crazy, and some will work hard to get you banned.

it is annoying to be tagged on some picture.

If the person is not your friend and still you are tagging for no purpose then they will report you for tagging again and again which may lead to bann

my account was blocked when i add friend continuously, what is the possible thing to do to activate it again.
