Mr Thiel had already sold shares worth more than $640m during the flotation, taking his total profit to more than $1bn.

Data from financial information firm Markit indicates that the number of investors betting on the shares to fall further - so-called short interest - in Facebook is now at record levels.

I think most of the short sellers have already covered their positions and taken their profits. Any more decline from here on should be gradual. But again, predicting stock price movement is a 50/50 proposition and without the benefit of insider info it is very difficult to predict accurately on a consistent basis (unless your name is Warren Buffet).
