Guys not sure if this has been posted before, i did a quick search but did not find what i wanted

I have my own facebook page, and from that I created my own business page, which now i have the same login for business and personal,..

I want them to both be seperate in their own right as i can only have facebook as me or by my business, is there anyway i can separate them

so i have
facebook.com/my-name
facebook.com/my-business-name

Facebooks lets me use one or the other, i think i should have created 2 separate profiles initially.

any ideas if this can be done now

Thanks in advance

Best possible answer about this can only be given by facebook support, have you tried contacting the first ?

You can only set up a business page if its attached to a personal page unfortunately, I have heard though that some people set up a personal account in a spoof name to get round this?

I hear contacting Facebook support is a simple waste of time - as they never answer... strange from facebook

You can add additional Admins for your business page. If you like you could make a new account, make it an Admin and maintain the page that way.

Facebook can get pretty cranky on this.

Basically if you want to interact with Facebook you must set up a personal account.

Once that is done you can set up any number of Facebook pages for business using you personal account. You can also, as pointed out by bill, add existing facebook users as administrators on any pages that you create.

What you can't do.... Or at least what Facebook don't want you to do is.... Create a personal account under the guise of your business, create a separate personal account just to manage your business account, or finally run a personal account as your business.

If Facebook come across anyone running these things the account will be suspended.

I have made accounts that only are used to Administer a page. There is no personal profile associated with them.

In order to get a fan page or business page, you have to collect a certain number of fans first, unless they have changed this. I paid to have a facebook business page, and this is what I recall. Seems like its 25 or 30 fans. Then you are able to give it a url name and add more page content.

not sure what this is about, i set up a business page entirely for free and without any fans, i was also able to give it a unique url. perhaps the stats they show you might change once you get 25 fans or so.

you need a personal page in order to make a business page, however to other users the pages seem entirely unconnected.

Be sure to set the profile used to admin the business page as not visible to search. No sense confusing people as to who's human.
