I get so sick of getting requests from people about this FB app or that.
I will never accept them, not happening, but I have to decline them all individually.
Have I missed any option that allows me to permanently opt out of all that noise?

You can opt out of all apps. That includes chat and Tweets and remote/phone posting, everything gets turned off. You can turn them on one at a time as you try to use some feature that was disabled if you want that feature on. I had to opt out, my nieces and sisters are casino/farmville nuts and that junk was 90% of what was showing up. Dig around in your account, sorry I couldn't tell you where I found the switch - but try hovering over the upper right corner of some app "news" and you may see the option there.

Click on the privacy settings and you will see an option about apps. Click on that and there should be an option for Turn Off All Apps.
