After more than a year in development, the wildly popular game was supposed to make its debut on the social network tomorrow but was uncaged a day early.
Although the game is has long been available on a wide variety of mobile and desktop platforms, the Finnish game maker Rovio included features unique to the Facebook version, including power-ups intended to give users a leg up on the competition.
Do they really think people will pay for the power up? I am not a gamer so I truly do not know. (I have more important things to do with my time.)

Might. After all, the mainstream media has found many uses for "Angry Birds" in their reporting! I am an FB... I don't play the games, heck FB has to remind me in emails "yourname has not visited in a while" paraphrasing "so many friends want to find you" Dang it I'm not lost! "these friends are hoping you'll friend them" paraphrasing again. Those angry birds begin to make sense. :)
On a less humorous side, the inclusion of the near viral game on mobile into FB is a huge step and many bucks are involved.

There is a fine line between friendly reminders and down right annoying, and facebook crosses it more times than not.
