An eye tracking study shows:
On average, the smaller pictures above the wall were noticed 85% of the time, and the “likes” column was noticed just 58% of the time.

The article has other interesting observations such as the fact that visitors almost always looked at the business page's wall first and they spent more time looking at it then other page elements.

People will look at the wall page first because that's what shows by default when you are logged in. It's natural.

not really "natural" since Facebook allows to use custom tabs to land visitors...

look at the brand pages of CocaCola, RedBull, BMW... etc.. none of them lands you on a Wall (unles you're already a fan)
