The more I use the new Facebook, the more I get to loath its UI. It's hard to find stuff, and it seems to feed news and info 'it' defines as newsworthy. Seemingly, it's not what I find newsworthy.

I'm with you there. They're trying too hard to figure out what I want to see. With the old layout I had jiggered the settings so that I did see what I wanted. I find myself spending more time on G+ as a result.

There are some decent extensions for all the major browsers that let you customize Facebook's layout to your preferences. One in particular even adds some major improvements to the UI.

At a certain point... on a personal level, at any rate... it's not worth keeping up with the changes, and I'd done so only because I'm "in the business". That said, I've not kept up with this last round.
I couldn't figure out what they meant by their different levels of importance, and I didn't really care. I wonder what percentage of their users had the same reaction.

The extension I mentioned fixes this issue as well.

I love the new Facebook layouts. they are evolving the product, adding useful new features. At the end of the day we should appreciate what they have given to over 800 million people.

I hate to be the curmudgeon, but what's so useful about the new features?
