Alright be honest: what traffic do you see from Facebook share/like?

Referral hits from Facebook as a result of share or like buttons

Okay so I surrender to the social media fad, and am now willing to graffiti my lovely clean webpages with horrid clutter - i.e. the logos of Facebook, Twitter, amongst others.

What I want to see is some feedback on what effect you people have actually seen from this.

So, for those using the Facebook "share" or "like" buttons on your pages, what traffic levels can you attribute to them?

Probably best if we talk about percentage increases over prior traffic.

And what kind of content does it apply to.

No need for names.

Enlighten me.

I put a like button on top of my page. Currently has 2700 Likes. Also set up a pages page with almost 1000 likes. With pages, any updates you make, the people that like it also sees the update.

According to my stats, each new post i post, gets around 200 impressions. Not sure if people click through though. That that's pretty good IMO. My traffic is increasing also from facebook.

January I got a total of 1000 visitors with 20,000 pageviews. Also last month was when I started adding the like our page on facebook buttons.

Suprising thing for me though is...I get like 5x that from www.tumblr.com another blogging social network site O_O Tumblr is growing real fast right now.

I've recently begun creating celebrity fan pages, singer and band fan pages, as well as fan pages from a wide variety of other niches. I also built pages based on a few websites I run. Alot of people don't understand that Facebook is a "platform". People don't go there to buy, they go there to be connect, be informed, and be entertained. Once you understand this it becomes alot easier to utilise Facebook as a marketing option for your own pages or simply building many fan pages totally unrelated to your own websites. I also built a couple of websites based around Facebook fan pages. These pages saw exponential traffic within a matter of hours. With one of my pages, I had 16,000 'Likes' within 22 hours. I created a Facebook page for each of my websites I already had and they saw an average of about30-40% traffic growth within a couple of days. Its easy when you know how.
