I am getting lots of 'renewal' notices from the domin registry of Europe for domains registered with another cheaper registrar.

These look fairly official and its only if you read them carefully that you will find that they are not actually renewal notices.

Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Ian,

I think this is the same company that is being taken to court by Tucows, and in return is doing the same, lots of bad press from what I hear.

I say keep well clear of this outfit.

...plenty of these just binned, along with a load of renewal notices from Verisign for domains that were transferred away at least three months ago...no wonder the rainforests are vanishing...

the same people have run the same scam under other very similar names and have been prosecuted in the past. i'd recommend you take a look at www.domainscams.com and report DROE to the FTC and everywhere else possible.
