Domain renewals - discount codes?

I don't know if it's ok to mention the registrar but I'm looking at renewing a .pw domain and the price is showing as $20 for a year - that seems somewhat steep compared to what it's been in the past and also compared to .com renwal.

Every time a renewal comes up I scrounge around for a working renewal discount code but really never find one. Is there a trick to doing this? Can I mention the registrar?

domain renewals have been going up for a few years now. The .com recent renewals for me are at slightly over $17 USD and .net is over $20 since 2023.

We do not post about discount codes as it seems to produce a LOT of spam. ;)

See the Charter when you have questions: [webmasterworld.com...] It is on the dropdown menu "Forum Options" in each forum. Some of the "please do not"s are:
Don't post about a domain registrar's pricing or promotions.
Posts or threads discussing domain registration fees or the benefits of specific registrars are likely to be deleted or heavily edited.

And how. My sites started out at, I think, $8.99 (.org) and $9.99 (.com). When they got up to $14.99--which was a while back, I think this year it’s $19.99--I started looking up alternatives, and found that, nope, that’s what everyone charges.

I guess the real winners are throwaway domains that you don't plan on keeping for more than a year or two. One of my current test sites got me hooked at $2.99 for the first year.
