I am in a quandary, I got a tip that a large company was about to release a different versoion of their existing service that would take them to the next level, so I bought the domain name.

I will use this example: everyone uses "Widget Tools" search phrase, but the main online company are going to make this service an "Extreme Widget", dropping the tools. I have the domain "extremewidget". I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, redirect it or put a site up, so I put it on a holding page with some text. I checked Google search a few days ago and it is number 1 to my surprise for "Extreme Widget". So, what do I do with it? "Widget Tools" is the money keyword of the service. Pages are usually made up like this example (not real phrases): "Widget Tools for Engine" etc. So do I start a site, going along the same lines as "Widget Tools for Engine" or do I begin "Extreme Widget for Engine" or maybe just Widget for Engine, all are relevant and normally take you to the same sites apart from the keyword Extreme Widget.

If I make a site I don't want to waste my time only to run into problem later. So whats recommended?

Wait a few days/weeks and see how that changes.

I'm no expert on this, but if their domain name is too close to yours, they may take steps to resolve it in courts. If someone owns the Trademark for the name and it predates your registration, then the owner may have legal rights to pursue. For example, yours is "extremewidget" and theirs is "extreme-widget" or "extremewidgets" they may see it in their best interest to take it to court.

I would suggest you get legal counsel in the location where you plan to use the domain. They could research the domain name and tell you whether there might be other prior claimants for the name. Laws are different around the globe so we do not offer legal advice here on the forums.

Their domain name and company name is completely different, they are just restructuring their main service that they offer to "Extreme Widget", hence the domain name.

A third possibility is to contact them and offer to sell/transfer. :)

As noted above, if the domain name is THAT CLOSE to their trademark/brand you might lose it via legal action.

If you aren't planning to use it (else why have it on a parking page?) selling it is one way to remove uncertainty (or temptation).
