Domain scam?

Hey,

I'm pretty new to domain buying (from other individuals anyway), so I wanted to get a 2nd opinion on this one.

I was contacted by another Godaddy user with an offer to purchase one of his domains. We agreed on a price and now he's asking for my Godaddy acct # so that he can transfer the domain. He's asking that I pay him right after the transfer is made.

The guy "seems" legit, and his name/email are the same ones listed in the domain's whois records. Is there any way that he can somehow reverse the transfer after it's complete and I've paid him?

I just want to make sure I'm not getting suckered into a scam here.

Thanks.

godaddy account to goddady account ..phone and ask them how it should go ..

and i would recommend paying via "documentary credit" when the "docs" are presented in order ..your bank makes the transfer ..also known as "letter of credit" ..cheap to set up ..foolproof for both parties ..but ask godadday how to proceed with the transfer step by step..

Thanks for the reply. I emailed Godaddy cust service yesterday and asked them. I got a confirmation saying that someone would get back to me in 4 hours or less. 24 hours later, I still haven't heard back. Maybe I'll try calling them today and see if I can get through.

always phone ..ask for a "team leader" get their name and their team colour ..in case your call gets dropped ..you'll get the same person when you call back if you ask for them ..

HTH ..

I use the bluerazor side ..enough domains you get a dedicated personal rep ..

Ok. I called Godaddy and spoke to a rep. He said that once the domain is moved to my account, the previous owner can't pull it back. So, it sounds like I'm protected since I won't be paying until after I see the domain in my account.

Thanks.
