Hi all,

I was hoping for a bit of advice.

I have a company website that doesn't have any keywords in the domain, but i have been able to buy about 15 keyword rich domains and these have never been developed at all.

The company site is well established so I was wondering what my best option would be in terms of SEO.

1) Should I 301 all the domains to the company site?

2) Pick the best KW rich domain and transfer the company site onto it, using 301's where appropriate & 301 the other KW rich domains to it as well?

3) Develop all the KW domains? (A very competitive area, so not sure if i'd have the time for all of it)

Any help would be appreciated.

I would not try to transfer the company site to a new domain unless the existing company domain is something totally unfortunate.

Do any of the keyword domains get much for type-in traffic? That might make a difference to the preferred course of action.

thanks for the reply buckworks,

The company name is the name of a person and the KW domain gets over 1500 searches done in the local area each month. The domain is a location+service and we have the .com and local extension.

What do you think?

over 1500 searches done in the local area each month

How are you ascertaining that?

BTW I wanted to know about direct type-in traffic, which is different from "searches".

We have the phrase in an AdWords account so I am getting the search figures from there. It's in its own campaign with a generous budget to make sure we are getting pretty much all the impressions we can get from it.

The type in traffic is anything between 50-150 per month.

A couple question need to be asked to determine if starting over is the best thing to do.
1- Age of your present site?
2- Links to the site?
3- Traffic to the site?
4- present serp positions for the company site for the desired terms?
5- Your long term goals for the company site?
