How to choose between using (domain alias) and (url forward)?

I'll ask the question another way, as I didn't find an answer on that other thread.

If you are Coca Cola - and you want to add additional traffic to the main site, how would they handle these two additional domains:

pop.com and soda.com

(assuming that you don't want to create new websites or web pages)

domain aliasing or url forward

I presume you are asking how to handle type-in traffic to exampleexample.com when you already own example.com and you want to show them the example.com site?

If so url forward from your registrar if you have the option. The four registrars I use do and they work seemlessly.

Do note that some registrars charge a few Dollars for this service.

Thank you.

When is it appropriate to use domain aliases, then.
