Advice needed regarding whether it is better to sell or lease a domain name?

Is one approach better than the other? For whom? How do you lease a domain?

It's better to lease the domains so that you may cash brand value later or sell it later. <snip>

Bulk domain transfers are easy to do.

thnx Paru,
Do I keep the name registered in my name if I lease or do I just fill out a contract with my potential client?

Leasing domains is a nice idea, however in practice very few companies / developers want to do it [yet?]

I think the main issue for the "tenant" is security of tenure, usually the acquisition of the name is fraction of the total development & delivery costs.

One probem for the "landlord" is the name in the whois is responsible for the content issued under name.

Escrow is the safest way to buy and sell domains. With other methods you have to be much more careful. If it goes wrong getting redress across international jurisidictions can be very time consuming and very costly.

Leasing out a domain is the best idea until you get the BEST QUOTE. You should not nominate the person to whom you are leasing out the domain as its owner. Instead you can put his/her name in admin.

So...you keep the domains in your name and have them fill out a lease contract? Its probably a lot easier to sell um...but a lease would be the way to go. So is the process like this?
Sell/Lease your domains (if lease fill out contract)

Buyer/Lessor initiates transfer in there host/registrar acc.

You recieve an email...then you approve transfer(reregister the domain if sold)

Then processes are handled between registarars(3-5days)

Is this how you would walk the buyer through it?
