Looking at DailyChanges today I noticed that some 613,000+ domains were being transferred out from HitFarm's DNS. I looked that a partial list of the domains and I can't say it was any great loss to HitFarm (assuming they were, in fact, parked on HF's system.)
Is this a massive housecleaning effort? If so, the scale of it - in what appears to be 1 move - is unprecedented.
I've been watching some large moves from Fabulous, too. Again, the vast majority of the domains removed from their servers were "icky".
I might infer that there is a move afoot to clean up portfolios, either as preparation for an acquisition OR as a requirement of keeping on favorable terms with a feed provider.
But, really, 613,000+ domains transferred out in one move. Mostly junk if the 20K I scanned were representative of the full 613K.
Wassup? Anyone care to either guess or otherwise illuminate me?
613,000 domains? Ya, quite a few typos in there. But all at 1 parking company? And now moved to another parking feed? Is anyone minding the domain parking feed store?
I wonder: Are certain folks having trouble finding a safe harbor in the PPC storm? Not that I'm biased against business models based upon typo-squatting but . . . :P
