There is a certain well known and very popular register who just intitated a new policy, which basicly says that if you make any changes on your who is, such as an phone number change or a new mailing address or even new name servers, then they block transfers for 60 days.

This really messes things up when you go to sell a domain and then cant becuase you recently decided sell it using a domain parking page. I list my domains on a well known domain seller, but cant sell them for 60 days becuase of the register.

This has nothing to do with the icann no tranfer within 60 days of first registering the domain policy. I heard that this might be against iccan regs. What do you all think?

You use the word "policy", which to me means something has been put into writing and communicated to you.

Please post up the operative language of the policy so we can better understand what is going on.

Does it prevent you from transferring the domain to another user, or just from transfering it to another registrar?

I suspect it is the latter. If so, you can still sell the domain. The new registrant will just have to keep it at the current registrar for 60 days.

It's a hassle, but it should give you a warm, fuzzy feeling about domain hijacking. If your domain is hijacked, it's much easier to set things right if the domain hasn't been transferred to another registrar.

This is not a new policy. It's been around a long time. It's only ANY change to the Registrant Info which causes the lock to be put in place. You can change the admin email for example. So you can transfer the domain provided you don't change any Registrant Info (or to put it another way, the Registrant Info hasn't been changed by anyone in the last 60 days). You can of course push the domain to another GoDaddy account at any time. The push effects a Registrant change, so the domain will be locked for a transfer after the push.
