What to do when domain is Suspended?

Recently I noticed that one of my domains has the SUSPENDED status in the whois - and the domain is no longer getting mapped to the dns (my site is down).

The domain is a .co.uk - I've owned this domain for many years and always had 100% clean/solid content.

On contacting my register <snip> I was told it was not them that suspended the domain - it was the main body (nominet?).

Does anyone have any solutions on how to get my name active again - and why it was suspended in the first place?

1. When in trouble always use the phone, until the problem is fixed. Plan B is to have one's lawyer start faxing letters.

2. When in trouble reach for the credit card. Money talks. Money fixes a multitude of problems. Fix the problem and only then worry about "how it happened" or "how to make certain it won't happen again."

Once I got the situation fixed I would be inclined to move that domain - and all others - to a new registrar.

Thanks webwork - I contacted the main body and got a reply back asking for my details - a few hours later the site is back :)

It appears the problem was the whois information - which my registrar cound'nt seem to update.
