Domain Transfer Failed

Invalid Authorization Code given by Present Registrar

I've been trying to help a client transfer a domain name from Melbourne IT to Network Solutions. It's taken over a month, with four failed transfer attempts so far. The first two were because the client tried to do things against our recommendations, but that's another story.

The last two fails were because NetSol says the auth code provided by Melbourne was invalid.

Anyone have experience dealing with Melbourne IT? I know a domain transfer should not be this difficult. Am I confusing the auth code for something else? Any help would be appreciated. I am waiting to hear back from Melbourne to get their side of why the transfers are failing.

In situations such as this a phone call, even if it's a toll call, is usually the best solution.

Use an international calling card or VOIP phone to keep the cost down.

Sometimes sending a fax will help.

Melbourne IT are a great company and one of the most helpful registrars we've dealt with. On balance I would guess it's a genuine problem somewhere along the line and would expect Melbourne IT will help you as much as they can.
