Hi Kenny and welcome to WebmasterWorld. Please take a moment to read the Charter as it will improve everyone's experience.

Here's a decent thread [webmasterworld.com] for getting your head around placing a value on a domain name.

As far as selling a domain you might post the domain at any (search phrase) "domain forum" or "domain name forum" that allows you to post domains for sale. We don't.

You can aslo put a sale notice on the domain's home page and in the WhoIs.

Most good domains, especially ones that aren't in active use, tend to get many inquiries, that is, they sell themselves. Buyers or interested parties hunt you down.

There are many domain forums which have a domain appraisal section. Just post your domain and you will get appraisal. You can also choose a professional appraisal service for a fee.

I myself am also interested in selling a domain name (not going to name it because I'm not sure if it's appropriate on these boards to do so). I saw Lisa's test and mine is harder to evaluate. It IS a "name brand", sort of. The domain in question revolves around a now off-air TV show and is a fan site for it that gets a fair amount of hits per day (but nothing extremely exciting; last I checked it's about 100-200 unique visits per day).

However the name is a common abbreviation for the show but not the actual name of the show (one that is sometimes put into search engines in itsself; 500 hits in a month from that search string) and the domain is only 5 letters long.

Sooooooo: It in itsself does not try to sell anything and is hard to tell if it's "1 part" or "5 parts". So how would one evaluate a domain like this one?
