Safe to buy domains via BuyDomains.com?

Found a domain I want but unsure they can be trusted

Hello people,

I found a domain that I would like to buy, and it is currently BuyDomains.com that has it. The price displayed on their site is $480.

Can these people be trusted? Should I call them or is it safe to purchase it online using a creditcard? Their website looks so scammy, it gives me a bad feeling. Might they overcharge my card? I am currently abroad so if they empty my creditcard I am in big trouble.

Has anyone experienced any problems with these people in the past?

Buydomains are part of NameMedia which in terms of the Domain Industry is pretty large. I would guess BuyDomains is one of the safest domain companies to do business with.

I've used BuyDomains for many years however I did transfer many names to my current registrar when they became "not so competitive" for renewals however I do still have a dozen or so with them plus their renewals charges have been reduced considerably since then.

They send out some quite informative newsletters and I can't recollect ever having a problem with them.

I have purchased a few domains through them and it has always been a smooth process.

purchased one through them and had no problem ... and could transfer it to my own registrar immediately too

Alrightee . . the votes are in . . and even though we don't "do votes for service providers" (mostly :-P) I'll add my vote to the column that says "Yes, when you pay BuyDomains they transfer the name to you."
