We are about to transfer ownership of a domain name that have 5 years of history build on the search engines. I have heard that once a domain name is transfered, Google will reindex your site,restart your history from scratch and kill all your indices. Basically start your domain from scratch. As anyone have any experiences or know the answers. Any assistance will be helpful

The only time you'd have to worry would be if the domain was under new ownership because it had been allowed to expire.

If it's just a straightforward transfer of ownership, you have no worries about losing its history or losing credit for existing links.
