Under What Conditions Does the WhoIs Need to Change?

Don't they have to change it after 5 business days?

I have a competitor that recently got purchased by a larger company a couple of months ago. The WhoIs record has not changed from the original owner.

I use GoDaddy and they require me change my WhoIs record with in 5 business days.

I don't want to be a mean competitor, but what happens if they do not change the record?

Given the plain implication of the question I'm afraid this is one question were not going to host answers to, if for no other reason than concerns about karma. I can't quite articulate "why" - as least not in rapid order - but . . we simply prefer not to play host to threads about "how to do it to a competitor". Unfortunately, there are likely dozens of places that might accomodate your question . . but there's still that karma thing to contend with. In this world there's a certain degree of "what goes around, comes around".

Do your competitor a favor: Contact them and suggest that they may have a problem. You may find out that they don't, as the domain name registrant may actually have some continuing rights to the domain name until certain conditions are met - such as a "final payment".
