Hi there,

Im just about to build a new site that will be targeted to the UK, it will be hosted on a UK server but im thinking of buying a .net domain name instead of a co.uk. Now will this harm me in the SERP's or will it have no effect

Cheers

On the whole if a site isn't a ccTLD of a country then it needs to be hosted in that country to rank well within geotargeted serps for that country.

Same question, many a times!

As you said, targeting UK, go for .uk domain!

Do not give a 2nd thought!

If you have some extra money, will suggest keep .net with you too!

With time, when you expand your biz, you may move to .NET?
