What would be best for SEO, a non-hyphenated .org or a hyphenated .net:

best-blue-widgets.net or
bestbluewidgets.org

I have several domains with one hyphen in them, but I would not have more than hyphen in the domain name. Better to use subdomains to add keywords to the URL, but make sure the subdomains have content to justify using them (i.e. more than one page with an affiliate link).

It doesn't matter. Search engines are smart enough to know that webmasterworld.com is the same as "webmaster world" when you searched using keyphrase "webmaster world."

The thread listed above

is from 2003 and outdated. Current thoughts from some of the most knowledgeable and resources are that more than one hyphen is too risky. I wouldn't use more than one.
