aside from snapnames and pool, which sites are highly recommended for grabbing deleted domain names?

An increasing number of registars are getting into the game whereby a registrar doesn't release lapsing domains but rather auctions the expired domain names from within their own system.

I suggest you start by checking the registrar for any domain you are interested in and then checking to see if that registrar auctions their own drops.
