Tonight I was trolling around on a well known domain registrars' website, casually searching for platinum domains that have, of course, already been registered and always will be registered. Big names like "drugs", "banking", "realestate" etc.
Low and behold, suddenly I found a big name that was not registered. Not a .com - but certainly, unquestionably, a million dollar domain....
I was thinking to myself "This cannot be true, there must be some mistake". But I just HAD to give it a try .... so I registered it! And the registrar sent me a confirming email!

I am a (prospective) millionare.
For 5-minutes.
In comes a new email message: CreateRegistration request failure - Domain Unavailable
I knew that would happen:
1) Somewhere along the line there was a mistake. The domain had never really been available
or
2) The domain WAS available but someone on the other end of my order was not about to let me, worm that I am, register such a valuable item when they themselves (or a confederate of theirs) could do it themselves.
But look at it this way: how many of you can truely say you were (prospectively) worth a million bucks - for even just 5-minutes?
It has been a good night.
Sweet dreams :-)
